They tan Zebra, Nguni, goats, sheep and all game skins; their mission being to produce quality and affordable leather items such as bags and cushions. Their tanning process is similar to most tanneries in South africa but they use the best quality and most effective chemicals which bring out the best of their skins.
Skhumba Skins of Africa specializes in hair on tanning – giraffe skins, lion skins, zebra skins and Nguni hides. They spend a lot of time on each skin making sure it is done properly. They have been on tanning courses and understand how to tan skins properly.
They have extended the tannery to include the making of exotic and unusual leather articles – leather cushions, leather gun-bags, board games and more.

Allison’s Saddlery is a family owned and run business which was started in 1902 by J.W Allison, a butcher, using the skins from the butchery to make harnesses for farmers.
