They were established on 16th October 1996 and boast a modern ostrich Abattoir which complies with European Union Standards. The tannery is owned by Swartland Ostriches Ltd, ensuring a steady supply of skins for processing.
The tannery has four tanning drums giving it a capacity of about 3000 skins per month which are available in natural Crust, Dyed Crust and finished colours per customer requirements.
New and exciting colours and finishes are being researched continuously in order to maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction at all times.

They specialise in hand stitched and handcrafted leather goods! For more than 12 years, the Groeneveld family have been producing quality, handcrafted items that are guaranteed to meet the toughest of standards.
Their focus is mainly on wine-related products – glass and bottle caddy’s for instance. Their bottle caddies, apart from the standard and classic models, have polystyrene inserts both for protection of the leather against condensation.
All their items are hand stitched and made from the upper layer of the veg-tanned cow hide, revealing the natural grain and ‘life-lines’. This ensures they are stronger and more durable than the lower layer ‘splits’ generally used commercially. They invite you to ask about the different possible decorative detailing and leather colours.
